Can judges or jurors be witnesses?

Bar Exam Prep β€Ί Federal Evidence β€Ί Testimonial Evidence β€Ί Can judges or jurors be witnesses?
πŸ¦… Federal Evidence β€’ Testimonial Evidence EVID#100

Legal Definition

The presiding judge may not testify as a witness. Similarly, jurors are incompetent to testify before the jury in which they are sitting.

Plain English Explanation

This should be pretty obvious. It'd be silly and inappropriate for a witness or judge in a trial to hop over the bench and sit in the witness stand for a trial they are a part of.
