Legal Definition
Unlike the ABA Rule, California Rule 1.13 does not permit the lawyer to disclose information to outside authorities if the highest authority within the organization fails to act. The California rule prioritizes confidentiality and does not allow for the same level of discretionary disclosure as the ABA rule.
